About Us

Lemoore Adult School, an integral part of the Lemoore Union High School District, offers educational opportunities for adult learners of all ages. Students as young as 18 enroll in the program, with no upper age limit, fostering a lifelong learning environment. The school primarily serves the communities of Stratford, Santa Rosa Rancheria, Island District, and residents of Naval Air Station Lemoore (NASL). While many students are local community members who previously attended schools within the district, others travel from nearby areas such as Armona, Hanford, and Riverdale to take advantage of the school’s diverse educational offerings. The school's history dates back to the 1993-1994 academic year when Lemoore Adult School first opened its doors. It operated successfully for over a decade and was accredited by WASC before closing in 2010. In 2016, the school was reopened with a renewed commitment to serving the community. While its original mission remains unclear, early records indicate that its primary programs included High School Diploma and English as a Second Language (ESL) courses. Since then, Lemoore Adult School has expanded its curriculum to include basic skills training and certification programs, further broadening opportunities for adult learners. Lemoore Adult School is dedicated to empowering individuals by helping them complete their high school diplomas and gain the skills needed for better job prospects and personal growth. The Lemoore Union High School District recognizes that life circumstances can sometimes interrupt a student’s educational journey. Through Lemoore Adult School, those seeking a second chance are provided with the support and resources they need to achieve their academic and career goals.

Program Description

Program Description Image
Lemoore Adult School provides students with a structured, standards-aligned credit recovery program using instructional packets. Each packet, complemented by a textbook, is designed to meet state academic standards. Students earn one credit per completed packet and are also required to complete additional assignments from the textbook to reinforce their learning. Lemoore Adult School adopted Edgenuity as its online instruction program of choice to help students earn elective credits. While Edgenuity provides a comprehensive curriculum that has greatly supported our elective course offerings, we do not rely solely on it to meet all student needs. To ensure personalized support, a credentialed teacher is always available to monitor student progress and provide assistance to those who may be struggling. Additionally, Lemoore Adult School offers students the opportunity to earn elective credits through work experience, further expanding their learning options. During the day, Lemoore Adult School, in partnership with Lemoore College, offers ESL and Basic Computer courses to help students develop essential language and digital literacy skills. These programs provide a strong foundation for academic and career success, enabling students to build confidence and competency in English and technology. The goal is to equip learners with the necessary skills to transition into the adult high school diploma program, furthering their education and expanding their career opportunities. Lemoore Adult School partners with contracted education providers to offer specialized career training programs, including forklift operation and truck driving. These programs equip students with industry-recognized certifications and hands-on training to enhance their employability in high-demand fields. Through these partnerships, students receive expert instruction, practical experience, and the necessary skills to secure jobs in logistics, transportation, and warehousing. By expanding career education opportunities, Lemoore Adult School helps students gain valuable workforce credentials that lead to stable, well-paying employment.  6  Our teachers and support staff meet all qualifications set by the Lemoore Union High School District. All teachers are fully credentialed, ensuring high-quality instruction and support. Currently, our team consists of four full-time teachers and one part-time teacher who oversees the Edgenuity program. Their responsibilities include creating student accounts, assigning courses, reviewing and grading work, administering unit tests, and submitting final grades. Students have the flexibility to work asynchronously from home or attend in person, where they can access Chromebook carts and receive additional academic support. Lemoore Adult School is dedicated to providing comprehensive student support services to foster academic success. Our registrar plays a crucial role in guiding students through the registration process, conducting assessments, and reviewing program services. Beyond administrative duties, the registrar actively engages with students, following up after enrollment to identify and address any challenges or barriers that may affect their ability to attend regularly. Additionally, this position consistently communicates with the Adult Students in regards to attendance, credits earned and classes completed. To ensure students stay on track, staff members meet individually with them to review transcripts, discuss graduation requirements, monitor course progress, and connect them with available support services. As students complete courses, they receive grade slips, and the registrar promptly updates their transcripts, allowing them to maintain a clear understanding of their academic standing and progress toward earning their high school diploma. At the time of registration, students meet one-on-one with the principal to review school rules, expectations, available learning options, and scheduling. During this meeting, students receive a student handbook to take home for reference. They are also introduced to the expectations for online learning and given the opportunity to ask questions. In addition, when the student is enrolled in an Edgenuity course, the staff meets 1:1 with the student and walks them through the logon process, and assists them with getting oriented with the program. Throughout the year, Lemoore Adult School collaborates closely with district nurses, counselors, psychologists, social workers, and special education staff to ensure that students receive the necessary support services. This holistic approach ensures that every student has access to the resources they need to overcome obstacles and achieve their educational goals.  AND a separate Spotlight for -    Our Mission: Our mission is to expand access to high school diplomas, higher education, career training, and employment opportunities.
